Financing & delivering resilient infrastructure: Discover SustainableFinance.Live’s 2025 hackathon

When it comes to resilient infrastructure (for example water, energy, data centres, rail etc.):

  • Who will provide the public/private finance?
  • What do they need to assess risk and return?
  • How can ‘Nature as Infrastructure’ help drive growth at speed?

The Sustainable Finance.Live hackathon will examine this through the lens of the “Large Infrastructure Planning Process” (LIPP) and seek to address the people, process and technical friction in the process:

  • What are the implications for technical debt, legacy systems, disparate data, lack of skills, and complex regulation?
  • Can Agentic AI deliver an ability to reason across this legacy estate and enable agile yet accessible collaboration with stakeholders?

How does Sustainable Finance.Live’s 2025 hackathon help address these challenges?

Today, $2.9 trillion annually flows into infrastructure, but often without factoring in physical climate risks. World Bank data indicates that infrastructure disruption, costs emerging and developing economies, at least $390 billion yearly.

On top of that, public and private financing is stretched, and Nature as Infrastructure is not yet often considered in this equation due to perceived cost, complexity and the challenges of measuring impact. So, how can organisations in the industry address large infrastructure planning in a sustainable way while considering people, process and technical friction in the process?

These are the key themes of the annual hackathon at Sustainable Finance.Live 2025. Teams are challenged with finding new, innovative ways to reduce complexity, and measure real-world impact, while delivering financial and material outcomes at speed.

Join this SustainableFinance.Live webinar, hosted in association with ResponsibleRisk, to unpack these themes, explore how innovators can come together to address these roadblocks, and why hackathons can help the industry solve today’s most pressing issues.
