Adobe Photoshop is such an important application for the photography industry that its name has become synonymous with image editing. After 30 years, in February, Adobe unveiled its first Photoshop-dedicated mobile app — and now Android users can join in the fun.

On Tuesday, Adobe announced that the Photoshop app will be available on the Google Play Store for the most popular Android smartphones. The Android app (beta) is free, and the only requirement is a device running Android 11 or later, with a minimum of 6GB of RAM, 8GB for optimal performance.

The app is aimed at users who prefer to work on their phones or edit and design on the go. The app’s intuitive, mobile-friendly interface also makes it more user-friendly for Photoshop beginners, as the desktop layout can be overwhelming at first.

Android users can access all the app’s features for free during the beta period, including combining, compositing, and blending images with selections, layers, and masks, the spot-healing brush, the remove and clone stamp, and access to thousands of free Adobe Stock assets.

These Firefly-supported AI features have gone viral on social media because users can expand images and add or remove elements with realistic results. To help unfamiliar users navigate the app, Adobe is also including Photoshop mobile tutorials in the tool, including how to use its features.
