ZDNET’s key takeaways

  • Hulu with Live TV is increasing its monthly price.
  • The service will now cost $90 a month, up from $82.
  • You can lock in $65 a month if you qualify for the discount.

Another day, another streaming service price increase.

Over the past several months, several streaming services have announced price increases, including Disney+ and Apple TV. Another one joins today, as Hulu has announced that customers will be paying more for its live TV service.

Starting today, Hulu with Live TV is jumping from $82 a month to $90 a month. For comparison, YouTube TV increased to $82 a month last year (it hasn’t announced a price increase this year) and is currently offering a similar promotion, but the latter only drops the price to $72 a month.

You can lock in a cheaper price, though, as long as you’re not a current customer.

If you’re a new subscriber or you haven’t had an account for at least a month, you can lock in three months for $64.99 a month here. Hulu warns that the subscription will automatically renew at the standard price at the end of that three-month period, but you can cancel any time (effective at the end of that billing period).

At $25 a month, that’s a savings of $75.

This deal runs until November 5 at 6 p.m. ET, so you still have some time to take advantage.

Hulu with Live TV, which ZDNET named the best all-in-one live TV and VoD streaming service, gets you live television from 95 channels (here’s the complete list) plus Disney+ with ads and ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited through the ESPN App and features like unlimited DVR. It’s usually priced right in line with its competitors, so this is a great chance to save a little money.
