Meta ran two Super Bowl ads for the Ray-Ban Meta glasses featuring Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, and Kris Jenner.
The company says the two 30-second ads were directed by Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kingsmanย franchise.

The last time Meta (then Facebook) used A-list celebrity advertising for a headset or glasses wasย for Oculus Go back in 2018. Back then, it used Wiz Khalifa to show streaming concerts in 360ยฐ video, Jonah Hill & Adam Levine to show cowatching an NBA game in 180ยฐ video, and Leslie Jonesย & Awkwafina to show watching movies on a giant screen.

Facebook has enlisted five top celebrities to feature in new video adverts to promote the Oculus Go standalone headset, which starts at $199 and doesnโt require a PC. The theme of the campaign is โSee It In VRโ, and represents Facebookโs first major traditional advertising campaign for VR.
The Ray-Ban Meta glasses have been a breakoutย success, selling over one million units last year.

EssilorLuxottica has also steadily released a new ‘Skyler’ style as well as dozens of new style variants. With all these improvements, Meta may feel that now is the time to heavily market the product to a wider audience, beyond technology enthusiasts, and enlisting A-list celebrities for the Super Bowl seems like a safe bet to do so.
Oakley Meta Glasses Are Reportedly Coming This Year Too
Oakley Meta glasses are coming later this year, Bloombergโs Mark Gurman reports.
Later this year, Meta and EssilorLuxotticaย reportedlyย plan to launch Oakley Meta glasses too, and Meta reportedly plans to introduce higher-end smart glasses with a HUD too, which may be controlled by its long-in-development neural wristband.
